​Hello! My name is Shruti and I am a History student.

​

​​Welcome to my blog - a platform I use, to write about my reading journey.

​

To say that I love reading would be an understatement. I believe that one's love for reading is not enough for them to appreciate the art of reading.

​

​'BookiShruti' came into existence in 2020 on Instagram. The number of books I read that year was much more than the number of books I’ve read in my entire life. It was, quite evidently, because of the lockdown when I began posting reviews on my Instagram account.​

​

​​While I started 2021 in the same spirit, something dawned on me by mid-year.

​

​It isn’t the number of books that you read that matter - it is the way you consume words on a page that matters more.

​

​And so, I decided to find a pattern and make sense of what I was reading. One thing was clear - I read diverse genres, but ultimately connect them all to the two broad themes that interest me the most - History and Feminism.

​As any other normal human being, my procrastination journey continued and still does. Perhaps this blog is one of its outcomes. I strongly believe that anything that you have read in isolation would not feel as fulfilling enough as when you share your thoughts about it, with others, and listen to what they have to say about it.

​

'BookiShruti' is one such attempt by me, to reach out to you, not just with book reviews or recommendations, but also with a few reading tips, and my thoughts about how reading something made me feel.

​
